PAN Registration

Permanent Account Number (PAN) Registration

The PAN system of identification is a computer-based system that assigns unique identification number to every Indian tax paying entity. Through this method, all tax-related information for a person is recorded against a single PAN number which acts as the primary key for storage of information. This is shared across the country and hence no two people on tax paying entities can have the same PAN.


DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR REGISTRATION


Application by Citizen of India :

Identity Proof :

  • Voter ID card

  • Aadhaar Card

  • Ration card with the applicant's photograph

  • Passport

  • Driving license

  • Arm's license

  • Central government health scheme card

  • Pensioner Card with attached photograph of the applicant.

  • Photo Id Card issued by Central Government, State Government or any other undertaking public sector. Bank certificate with a attested photograph of the applicant along with bank account number of the applicant

  • A certificate of identity in the prescribed format signed by a Member of Legislative Assembly, Member of Parliament, Municipal Councilor or a Gazetted Officer.


Address Proof :

  • Utility Bills

  • Copy of Bank Account Statement

  • Credit Card Statement

  • Voter Id Card

  • Driving License

  • Passport

  • Aadhar Card

  • Copy of latest order for Property Tax Assessment

  • Domicile certificate issued by government

  • Allotment Letter

  • Passbook of Post office account containing applicant’s address

  • Property Registration Documents


Proof of Date of Birth :

  • Birth certificate issued by the Municipal Authority or any office authorized Registrar Pension payment order

  • Marriage certificate issued by Registrar of Marriages

  • Matriculation certificate of any Board

  • Valid Passport

  • Driving license

  • Domicile certificate issued by the central or state government

  • Affidavit signed before a magistrate stating the date of birth


Application by HUFS (Hindu Undivided Family)

In a HUF, a single PAN is assigned to the entire unit.

List of documents :

  • Aadhaar card

  • Ration card

  • Passport

  • Driving license

  • Photo ID card issued by the Government

  • Voter’s ID card

  • Arm’s license

  • Pensioner card

  • Central Government Health Service Scheme card

  • Ex-servicemen Contributory Health Scheme photo card

  • Bank statement (Original)

Additional Documents Need to Submit by the HUFs:

  • An affidavit is required by the karta of the HUF stating the name, father's name and address of all the HUF members.

  • In case of a minor applicant, parents’/guardian’s proof of identity is mandated as the proof of identity and address for the minor applicant.


Application by Companies :

  • Proof of Registration Certificate issued by the Registrar of Companies


Application by Partnership firm (including Limited Liability Partnership):

  • Proof of registration certificate issued by the Registrar of Limited Liability Partnerships.

  • Partnership Deed.


Application by Trusts :

  • Deed of Trust

  • Proof of certificate of registration Number issued by Charity Commissioner.
