IFSSAI Registration

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) Registration

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) Act, 2006, which is a consolidating statute related to food safety and regulation in India. FSSAI is responsible for protecting and promoting public health through the regulation and supervision of food safety which consolidates various acts & orders that have hitherto handled food related issues in various Ministries and Departments.

It is thus believed that there are more than 5 crore food businesses in the country while only 33 lakhs of them are registered with FSSAI. The importance of the quality standard is ever growing and it is beneficial in the short as well as in the long run for your business in order to have an FSSAI license .


DOCUMENTSREQUIREDFORREGISTRATION

Company :


  • List of Directors, Partners ,Proprietor, Executive Members of Society/Trust with full address and contact details

  • Photo ID and address list of directors with addresses)proof issued by Government authority of Proprietor/Partner/Director(s)/Authority Signature

  • Proof of possession of premises. (Sale deed/ Rental agreement/ Electricity bill, etc.)

  • Memorandum & Articles of Association towards the constitution of the firm.(optional) - For MOA - Three pages need to be uploaded (First page - Certification of incorporation, Second page - Authorization of food business activity and Third page -

  • Food Safety Management System plan or certificate ( if any)

  • Recall plan wherever applicable, with details on whom the product is distributed ( if any)

  • NOCs from Municipality or local body

  • Form IX: Nomination of Persons by a Company along with the Board Resolution

  • Copy of certificate obtained under Coop Act - 1861/ Multi State Coop Act - 2002 in case of Cooperatives.

Sole Proprietorship/Partnership :

  • Form-B Duly completed and signed (In Duplicate) by the Proprietor/ Partner or the Authorized Signatory

  • Photo ID and address proof issued by Government authority of Proprietor/Partner/Director(s)/Authority Signature

  • Proof of possession of premises. (Sale deed/ Rental agreement/ Electricity bill, etc.)

  • Partnership Deed/Affidavit of Proprietorship towards the constitution of the firm.

  • Food Safety Management System plan or certificate ( if any)

  • Recall plan wherever applicable, with details on whom the product is distributed( if any)

MANUFACTURERS :


  • Blueprint/layout plan of the processing unit showing the dimensions in meters/square meters and operation-wise area allocation

  • Name and List of Equipments and Machinery along with the number, installed capacity and horse power used

  • Photo ID and address proof issued by Government authority of Proprietor/Partner/Director(s)/Authority Signature

  • List of food category desired to be manufactured

  • Authority Letter with name and address of responsible person nominated by the manufacturer along with alternative responsible person indicating the powers vested with them viz assisting the officers in inspections, collection of samples, packing & dispatch

  • Analysis report (Chemical& Bacteriological) of water to be used as Ingredient in food from a recognized/public health laboratory to confirm the portability

  • Proof of possession of premises. (Sale deed/ Rental agreement/ Electricity bill, etc.)

  • NOC & Copy of License from manufacturer (mandatory for Re-labellers and Re-packers only)

  • Food Safety Management System plan or certificate ( if any)

  • Source of milk or procurement plan for milk including location of milk collection centers etc.in case of Milk and Milk Products processing units .(wherever applicable)

  • Source of raw material for meat and meat processing plants.[wherever applicable)

  • Pesticide residues report of water in case of units manufacturing packaged drinking water, packaged Mineral water and or carbonated water from a recognized /public health laboratory

  • Recall plan wherever applicable, with details on whom the product is distributed

  • NOCs from Municipality or local body.


NOTES:

FSSAI LICENSE CAN TAKE A TIME PERIOD OF 30 DAYS FROM APEX FOOD SAFETY REGULATOR FSSAI HAS ANNOUNCED THE PROCESSING OF FSSAI LICENSE WILL BE DONE THROUGH E-INSPECTION
